A Fresh Start, A Few Milkshakes & Looking Ahead to 2026

There is something quite powerful about a fresh start 🌱

Earlier at Bee Fold, we handed out brand-new scrapbooks to the people we support. Blank pages ready to be filled with ideas, hopes, and the small things that make everyday life feel good.

We spent a calm afternoon together chatting about how we’d like to use the funds raised from our recent raffle. Rather than picking activities for the sake of it, we wanted to be thoughtful – choosing things that will genuinely make life better, more comfortable, and a little more joyful.

The aim was simple: to sit down together and talk about what we want 2026 to look like.

Planning With Purpose

The scrapbooks are more than just keepsakes. They’re a space for each person to explore what really matters to them.

We’re using them to map out individual goals and the activities people would like to try, both at home and out in the community.

Everyone had the space to share ideas and talk things through, shaping the year ahead in a way that felt right for them – calm, collaborative, and led by the people who live here.

Finding What Works

Everyone’s needs are different, so we take the time to understand what truly works for each person.

Take Kevin, for example. Kevin lives with anxiety, which can make everyday things – like staying hydrated – feel overwhelming. Drinking enough during the day can be a real challenge, but there’s one thing he genuinely enjoys: milkshakes.

So for 2026, we’re making milkshake making and tasting a regular part of life at Bee Fold. 🥤

It might sound like a small thing, but for Kevin it’s a relaxed, pressure-free way to stay healthy. No "clinical" feel. Just a strawberry milkshake, a blender in the kitchen, and a friendly chat.

That’s what person-centred care looks like in practice – finding solutions that fit the person, not the other way around.

Looking Ahead to 2026

At We Change Lives, our days can look a little different to other care settings... and that’s what allows us to truly support people as individuals.

Whether it’s planning a big trip out or enjoying a quiet afternoon at home, what matters is that it works for the people we support and helps them live well, on their terms.

To everyone who supported our raffle: thank you. Your generosity is helping turn these ideas into reality and making everyday moments better for people like Kevin.

We’re looking forward to seeing these scrapbook pages fill up as the year goes on – one plan, one moment, and yes, one milkshake at a time. 😂
