There’s been lots of excitement at Bee Fold lately. 🏡 Our brand-new Activity Room is finally up and running, and it’s already becoming a much-loved part of the service.

Thanks to the kind donations from our local community, we’ve been able to turn the space into something really special – warm, welcoming, and filled with things that the people we support truly enjoy. Now that it’s fully heated, it’s somewhere we can make use of all year round, not just in the summer months.

It’s already making such a difference to daily life here. Here are just a few of the lovely moments we’ve seen so far. 👇

Kev’s Big Step Forward

You might remember Kev, who experiences anxiety and recently helped us redesign his bedroom to make it his own safe and calming space.

Kev decided to pop into the new Activity Room for a look around, and he settled straight in. After checking out the activities on offer, he chose to play cards. No surprise there, given his love of fish – he went for Go Fish!

He was smiling, chatting, and completely at ease. ️💙 And by the end of the session, his comfort blanket was off, which said everything about how relaxed he felt.

It was wonderful to see Kev enjoying himself somewhere new, feeling comfortable and confident. He even stayed for lunch and said he can’t wait to visit again.

Elaina’s Pamper Session

Our lovely Elaina also joined us earlier in the week. She helped with craft activities to brighten up the new space, which is still a work in progress but already looking beautiful.

Afterwards, she enjoyed a pamper session: a manicure with her choice of colour and design. 💅

Elaina told us how much she loved the experience and said it felt just like visiting a real salon. Creating those small but meaningful experiences matters so much, especially for the people we support who can’t always access them in the community.

Raff’s Peaceful Moment

Raff is non-verbal and doesn’t often take part in group activities, but when he came to explore the Activity Room, he quickly found comfort in our big, cosy armchair (kindly donated by someone in the community).

We played some gentle music and looked through his family photo album together. Raff’s face lit up as he recognised people and moments, showing his happiness through smiles and body language.

It was a lovely, peaceful moment that showed how much the new space can help the people we support feel calm, settled, and connected.

More Than Just a Room

Our new Activity Room has already become a place where the people we support can relax, connect with others, and enjoy activities that are meaningful to them. From crafts and games to pamper sessions and quiet time, everything in the room is planned around what each person enjoys most.

We’re so grateful to everyone who helped make it possible – from those who donated furniture and décor to those who shared ideas and helped bring it to life.

It’s amazing how something as simple as a new space can bring so much joy, confidence, and comfort.

We can’t wait to see all the wonderful memories that will be made here. 💛
