The Moments That Shaped Us in 2025

As we step into 2026, we’ve been thinking about the year that’s just passed. Not to make a show of it, but to remember the little and big moments that really stuck with us and continue to shape how we go about our day-to-day work.

2025 wasn’t about one big headline. It was made up of hundreds of smaller moments: connections, acts of care, little wins and joyful surprises. ✨

Making spaces feel like home

One of the things that really mattered last year was creating environments where people feel comfortable and settled.

From helping Kevin and Peter personalise their rooms, to opening a new activity space at Bee Fold, to welcoming people into Guernsey House, our teams worked alongside those we support to make these places feel safe, familiar and personal.

It wasn’t just about the walls or furniture. It was about choice, pride and feeling at home. That way of thinking continues to guide how we develop our spaces and homes.

Little moments that made a difference

Some of the most memorable times weren’t big events, but small experiences filled with joy.

Seeing Jess and Leonie enjoy their dream days, watching everyone smile at alpaca visits, or the warmth of hatching chicks together – these moments reminded us just how important small joys are. They lift spirits, spark confidence, and stay with people long after the day is done. We carry that with us into everything we do.

The people who make it happen

At the heart of everything are the people – the colleagues, volunteers and friends who show up every day.

Last year, we shared stories of people like Chris, who found purpose as a Trustee, Sian leading with heart at Bee Fold, and colleagues like Ashley, Gemma and Liane making an impact in their own ways.

These stories showed what we see every day: when people feel supported and valued, it comes through in the care they give. That continues to be at the heart of what we do.

Carrying it forward

The moments that mattered in 2025 didn’t end when the year did. They shape how we show up today, in the care we offer, the spaces we create, and the support we give each other.

As we move through 2026, we carry these experiences with us. They guide us, remind us what works, and inspire us to keep finding new ways to make everyday moments count. 💙
