Welcome to Colchester Road:
ASD & Complex Behaviour Supported Living in Leicester

Specialist supported living for adults with autism, learning disabilities, and complex behavioural needs – in a modern, purpose-designed home in Leicester.

About
Colchester Road

Colchester Road is a high-quality supported living service in Leicester, designed to support adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), learning disabilities, mental health conditions, and behaviours of concern. Delivered through Creative Care at We Change Lives, the service combines specialist support with safe, self-contained accommodation that people can truly call home. Located just east of Leicester city centre, this 15-apartment property was fully refurbished and thoughtfully converted into a supported living service in 2021. Since opening, it has become a vibrant and stable home for adults with complex behavioural needs, many of whom see this as their long-term home.

A safe, independent place to call home

Colchester Road offers 15 self-contained apartments in a peaceful residential setting – each designed to promote comfort, privacy, and independence. Every space is modern, spacious, and adapted to suit individual needs. Personalisation is encouraged, helping each person feel a genuine sense of ownership and belonging.

The property also benefits from shared communal areas, high-quality facilities, and on-site staff presence – balancing independence with reassurance. A consistent, experienced team of support staff – including a Registered Manager and Deputy Manager – ensures care is structured, responsive, and truly person-led.

Many of the people we support here have high levels of need and require ongoing, tailored behavioural support. This service offers a calm, structured environment where routines are built around the person – helping them feel secure, respected, and empowered.

Specialist support, built around you

Support at Colchester Road is guided by Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) – a person-centred model that looks beyond behaviours to understand each person’s needs, goals, and lived experiences.

Working closely with individuals, families, and professionals, our team takes time to build trust and develop care plans that are:

  • Compassionate and consistent

  • Designed to reduce behaviours of concern

  • Focused on emotional wellbeing, daily living, and life skills

  • Regularly reviewed and shaped by the individual’s progress

We also draw on the PERMA wellbeing model – helping people build confidence, find purpose, and thrive emotionally as well as practically. Our aim is to give each person the tools and support they need to live a life that feels safe, stable, and fulfilling.
