Leonie's Dream Day: Meeting Her Hero, Mr Tumble

At Bee Fold, we believe in going above and beyond to help the people we support live their best lives – and that includes making lifelong dreams come true. For Leonie, one dream has always stood out…

Ever since she was a little girl, Leonie has absolutely loved Mr Tumble. His joyful energy, bright colours, and fun-filled stories have always lit up her face. The moment Mr Tumble appears on screen, Leonie beams – and anyone who knows her knows how special that smile is.

So, when we started exploring personal goals and aspirations with our residents, there was no question what Leonie’s would be: meeting Mr Tumble in real life. It’s been on her bucket list for years, a dream shared by her mum and the rest of her family too. But… there was one big hurdle.

Mr Tumble no longer does meet and greets.

But that didn’t stop our team.

We pulled out all the stops – and after a lot of phone calls, planning, and happy screaming (from staff and families alike!)… we did it. We managed to get Leonie to the CBeebies Live Party at AO Arena, where she had the chance to sing, dance, and join in with Mr Tumble himself. 🎉

From storytelling and music to a moment of pure joy, it was everything she hoped for and more.

“The smile on Leonie’s face says it all,” said a team member. “It was one of the happiest days we’ve ever shared – and watching her light up was something none of us will forget.”

Leonie’s mum was over the moon too, and sent a beautiful message of thanks afterwards, which we’ll always treasure:

I've got goosebumps. That's been my dream for her since she was little. Thank you so so much for making it come true! I can't believe he picked her. Must be [her] Daddy watching down making sure it happened. I honestly can't say thanks enough! ❤️ xx

We’d also like to say a massive thank you to the AO Arena team and everyone involved in the CBeebies Live event for helping us make this dream come true. You were wonderful and so helpful from start to finish.

For us, this is what care is all about – not just support, but celebration. Not just everyday moments, but extraordinary ones. And for Leonie, this was a day to remember. 💫
