A New Milestone: We Changes Lives Expands into the East Midlands

At We Change Lives our mission has always been simple: to support people to live their best lives. And now, with our latest expansion, we’re growing our impact even further – reaching more people, providing more support, and making a real difference where it’s needed most.

We’re thrilled to announce that we've expanded into the East Midlands with the acquisition of new services, all dedicated to supporting people with complex behavioural care needs.

Expanding Our Reach, Changing More Lives

With our roots in Warrington, where we were founded in 1991 as Warrington Community Living. We embarked on our growth strategy two years ago with the acquisition of 3L, and with SL tenders we've been growing across the North West of England. Now, with these new services based in Leicester, we’re proud to be taking our first steps into the East Midlands, another exciting chapter in our journey.

The newly acquired services – previously operated by Creative Care – are all rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and specialise in Complex Behaviour Supported Living, offering highly personalised care for individuals with significant needs. With tailored support plans, positive behaviour management strategies, and specially trained staff, they empower people to live independently, manage risks, and actively participate in their communities. Their addition strengthens our ability to provide specialised support for people with complex health needs, alongside the care we already provide for people with learning disabilities, autism, dementia, mental health issues and acquired brain injuries.

Meeting the Growing Need for Complex Care

Complex care is one of the most in-demand areas of social care today. It involves supporting people with significant, chronic, or acute health conditions that require highly coordinated, personalised care. As demand continues to rise, our expansion with these services means WCL can be a much needed bridge in this widening gap in care provision.

Our CEO, Phil Sermon, shared his thoughts on this exciting milestone:

Our focus remains on developing specialist complex care and supported living services that truly make a difference in people’s lives.”

A Bigger Team, A Bigger Impact

With this expansion, We Change Lives now operates 24 services across the country. We’re welcoming 21 new individuals into our care, bringing the total number of people we support to 126. To continue delivering the high quality, person-centred care we’re known for, we’re also welcoming 125 new staff members, growing our dedicated team to 426 professionals.

What a way to start 2025! We’re so excited for what’s ahead and committed to making an even bigger impact.
