World Mental Health Day: Our Commitment at We Change Lives

As we approach World Mental Health Day on October 10, 2023, we want to take a moment to reflect on the importance of mental health and what it means to us at WCL.

Mental health is a topic very close to our hearts. We understand that it's not just about the absence of mental illness but also about promoting and supporting emotional well-being. It's about ensuring that everyone, regardless of their background or circumstances, has the right to good mental health.

Our Commitment to Mental Health

At We Change Lives, we are deeply committed to mental health support. It's not just a part of what we do; it's at the very core of our mission. We believe that every individual deserves access to the highest standard of mental health care. That's why we offer a range of services, from our residential home to community services and a crisis center, all aimed at providing the care and support needed for those facing mental health challenges.

The Universal Right to Mental Health

This year's World Mental Health Day theme, "Mental health is a universal human right," resonates strongly with us. We firmly believe that mental health should be considered a fundamental right for all. It means that every person should be protected from mental health risks, have access to quality care, and enjoy the freedom to live independently and be included in their community.

Challenges and Opportunities

We acknowledge that mental health conditions affect millions of people worldwide, impacting their physical health, relationships, and overall quality of life. Adolescents and young people, in particular, are facing growing mental health challenges.

However, we firmly believe that having a mental health condition should never lead to a denial of human rights or exclusion from decisions about one's health. This is an issue we are passionate about addressing.

Join Us in the Movement

We Change Lives is dedicated to working to ensure that mental health is valued, promoted, and protected. We strive for a world where everyone can exercise their right to mental health and access the quality care they need.

This World Mental Health Day, we invite you to join us in the campaign to learn more about your basic right to mental health and how to protect the rights of others. Together, we can create a more inclusive and compassionate world where mental health is a universal human right that we all uphold and champion.

Thank you for being a part of the We Change Lives community. Your support and dedication are essential in our mission to make a positive impact on the lives of those facing mental health challenges.

Let's stand together for mental health, not just on World Mental Health Day but every day, because every day is an opportunity to make a difference. 💚
